Daddy's Birthday
Well, another birthday. I don't like birthdays but I love celebrating other peoples. So, this was a day we will never forget. Debi had a GIGANTIC, FANTASTIC, and TOTALLY OFF THE WALL surprise for Clark's birthday. It started out today to be just a wintery day. I had got in my car to drive to school, and it was slick. I decided to go back to the house and let Angie drive me since she was teaching at my school. As we pulled into school she got a text that was from Deb with a wierd picture of Deb holding a baby, and the kids and Travis all in a hospital room. Of course, we thought this was a joke, Debi wasn't PG. So, Angie called her to ask about what sick this joke was since her text read- Now my family is complete. Wow, Travis calls me and tells me that last night Deb gave birth to a baby girl, 9 pounds 6 ounces WOW, I was a new GRANDMA and I didn't even know Deb was PG. Come to find out it was suppose to be born on her Daddy's birthday, but the little girl decided to come on March 5th. WOW, what a wonderful surprise for everyone. We are going there in a couple of weeks, and so we are mightly excited. Now Deb has 4 little girls, just like her mommy. I don't think we will get the little boy though.
So, I am not sure I can top this one Dad, but here it goes- for my birthday tribute to you.
1. You are a fabulous father. I don't think the kids realize how many sacrifices of time and money that you did for them. You tried so hard to give them everything they needed. Well, they never did get their own cars, but oh well, we tried.
2. You were a great Policeman. Those days are in the past now, but you did such a good job. I never have anyone say anything bad about you. You always tried to be honest and true.
3. You are a great GRANDPA. You love taking care of little Michael and you love to go see all the grandkids. We do try to go to everyone's events. Sad that they don't all live here.
4. Your a GREAT HUSBAND. You try very hard to make me happy, and you do a good job at that. WE sure have fun now huh.
5. Your a Great Missionary- you love working at the family history center. I know that family history has now become a great hobby for you.
6. You love the Lord with all your heart, might, mind and strength. You are such an example to your kids. You never have questioned, but you try so hard to do the right things.
7. You love the Temple- I think this is one place you find your peace.
8. You love reading the scriptures. Now that is a new one, because you are completely absorbed by this. YEAH
9. Your the DISNEYLAND KING. This is a nice memory for your kids. They love to be at Disney with you. Thanks for loving this place.
10. You love hunting- not my favorite thing about you, but you do love it and you love going with your son, hunting and fishing. Favorite guy time together.
11. You love fishing- yes, I worry about you in the river, but you love it.
12. You use to love camping but it isn't the big thing in your life anymore. I wish I could talk you into the trailer. We sure would have fun
13. You love your 50 and 60 records. Wow, the music flows from your little office
14. You love to cook a good steak- yes, you do it well. Deb would approve of the spices you now use.
15. You love to watch BYU football. That didn't always rate high, but it sure does now.
16. You love your baseball trophey and still think about coaching the team in Colorado
17. Your a great painter- yes, the kids still love you to paint their houses. You sure do a great job.
18. You love to go walking. I can hardly wait to get you down to the river this summer
19. You love your crazy sandwiches- peanut butter, bologna, and apples, sometimes with jam, well now they are replaced with your crazy mexican burittos.
20. You loved 24, only this season you haven't been watching it as much
21. You love your newspaper. You are pretty mad at NO MONDAY paper huh?
21. You are a good FRIEND- you have lots of friends around town, and that was pretty evident at your retirement party.
22. You are very thrifty. You always spend your money wisely, and I respect that.
23. You love a good "shoot them up" on TV but you hate going to the movies. Sad for me, because I love the movies, or do I just love the popcorn.
24. You love popcorn, even though you do think it gives you dandruff. HAHAHA
25. You love your new laptop and your computer. You spend hours on it. I am glad
26. YOU LOVE to GO CRuISING. Yes, this is something we need to do more.
There you have it, you are one great husband, father, and grandfather. I love you more than anything in this life. I am so glad that you decided to come to Seattle, and go to CHURCH.
Love, your wife
