4th of July/ Retirement

Can you believe it, we have a family blog. I hope all of you kids and friends will check it often. I am terrible about keeping journals, and so maybe this will help.

Well, your Father is OFFICIALLY RETIRED. Yes, he came home last Wednesday and told me that was his last day. He had found two days in 2006 that he hadn't used. Go figure that, how many times have we all asked him to come somewhere but he didn't think he could get the time off. OUCH. Oh well, now we can come basically anytime that I am not teaching.

His last official duty was the 4th of July. He actually came to the parade with us and then we went to the Melalucca Dinner where he was security and then directed traffic after the big event.

Angie and her family came with us and then Angie and I watched him direct traffic. This was quite entertaining.  He really had to yell at people to listen to how to leave a parking lot. Everyone was in a hurry to just pull out so that they could wait in another line .  We were smart and let everyone waste their gas, and we waited for about an hour.

The next day little Michael got baptized. It was a great day and I had the Morgan family over for a little luncheon. We had a nice day. Michael was so good looking in his new suit and he was so proud to bear his testimony this morning at church. It was a great day.

Hey ya'll! It's hard to believe that guy who used to throw us baseballs and write up fancy basketball plays is now an old retired guy. Hopefully he'll have more time to throw baseballs to his grandkids.

It's great to see that you have a blog. Hopefully it will help us keep in touch. It's been a few years and we're just a little bit far away from home these days. We're loving life and enjoy being close to the beach. But, we do miss the dry air and tall mountains sometimes. Keep in touch!
